Overview:

Controls are those activities that prevent or detect the failure cause or failure mode. The main objective of FMEA is to predict the most important problems and try to prevent their occurrence or minimize the consequences of problems when they occur. The controls focused on prevention are those that provide the greatest return. Examples of failure controls include: design revisions, inspection plans, test plans, audits, among others.
