Starting a workflow

Previous  Top  Next

To manually start a workflow, first, access the WF003 (Execution Start) menu in SE Workflow.

At this point, the processes that can be started will be presented in the form of cards. The favorite and most accessed workflows are featured in a highlight area. To find the process you wish to start more easily, use the filters at the top of the screen and the hierarchy of process or workflow types (A). The processes resulting from the research will be displayed on the right side of the screen (B):

Note that the processes are displayed as cards:

A

When hovering the mouse over the card icon, it becomes a "Play" button. Click on it to start the workflow.

B

Click on the star button to favorite the workflow. Workflows marked as favorites are displayed in a highlight area on the startup screen.

C

By clicking on the information icon, it is possible to see the data screen of the process that will be started, to make sure that it is the actual desired process.

D

This icon will only be displayed if the process already has a workflow in progress. When users click on it, they will be directed to the task screen called My workflows, where they can track instances in progress.

Click on the "Play" button in the card of the workflow to be started. In the field that will be displayed, enter the Title of the workflow and click on the Start button. If you do not want to start the workflow, click on the Cancel button.

If the starter of the workflow is the executor of the first activity of the process flow, the activity screen will be displayed, allowing its execution. If the activity is configured with the permission to change the ID #, title, or description, a screen will be displayed allowing you to edit the instance ID #, Title, or Description.

This screen will only be displayed to the workflow starter (in the first activity of the instance) if at least one of the following parameters has been checked in the activity data (Activity data Configurations Instance): "Enable ID # change", "Enable title change" or "Enable description change". If none of these fields is checked, then this screen will not be displayed.

If in the Process Security data, in the SE Process component, the "Enable starter to edit instance viewing permissions" option is checked, then, during the execution of the first activity, the Security section will be displayed, which will allow the starter to perform the desired security configurations for the workflow that was started. See more details about this section in the "Activity execution Entering the data of an activity" section.

See the Activity execution task for more details on how to perform the execution of an activity.

Remember that if deadlines are configured during process modeling, after the workflow is started, actions can be triggered by the system. Refer to the specific documentation of the SE Process component for more information on deadlines and their configuration.
