Overview:

A project consists in an expended temporary effort to create a product, service, or single result. Use this menu to plan the projects, aiming at better meeting the strategic planning of the organization.

 

Specific buttons:

Click on the arrow located next to this button and select the desired option:

Add blank project: Allows adding a new blank project. See more details on how to perform this operation in the Creating blank project section.

Create project using wizard: Allows creating new projects with the help of a wizard. When accessing the wizard screen, the following options are available:

oBlank project: Allows adding a new blank project. See more details on how to perform this operation in the Creating project using wizard - Blank project section.

oFrom template: Allows creating a new project from a project template. See more details on how to perform this operation in the Creating project using wizard - From template section.

oFrom existing project: Allows creating a new project from a previously recorded project. See more details on how to perform this operation in the Creating project using wizard - From existing project section.

oImport file: Allows adding a project from the import of an .mpp, .mpx or .xml file, with the help of a wizard. See more details on how to perform this operation in the Creating project using wizard - Import file section.

Click on this button to edit the data of the project selected in the list of records. See more details on how to perform this operation in the Editing planning project section.

Click on this button to delete the project selected from the list of records. Note that projects that have a relationship cannot be deleted.

Click on the arrow next to this button and select the desired option to access the SE GanttChart or the project schedule selected in the list of records.

Click on the arrow next to this button to configure and issue the desired project reports and tasks. This button also allows you to export the list of records displayed on the main screen to an Excel file, configure a new report or associate an existing report, and it also searches for the parameters that can be used in the configuration of new reports.

Click on this button to export the GanttChart of the project selected in the list of records. See further details in the Exporting projects section.

Click on this button to edit the status of the project selected in the list of records. See further details about this operation in the Changing the status of a project/program section.

Click on this button to close the planning of the project selected in the list of records and send it to the next configured step. See further details about this operation in the Finishing project planning section.

Click on this button to unblock a project being edited through SE GanttChart or that is blocked for other reasons. Note that, after clicking on this button, the project will be available for editing. If SE GanttChart is opened by one user, and another user makes a change to it, the information of one of the two users may be lost.

Click on this button to recalculate the schedule of an outdated project. Select the desired record before clicking on the button.

Click on this button to view the WBS of the project selected in the list of records. See further details in the Work breakdown structure (WBS) section.

Click on this button to view the OBS of the project selected in the list of records. See further details in the Organization breakdown structure (OBS) section.

Click on this button to edit the communication plan of the project selected in the list of records. Through the screen that will display, it will be possible to view the team data and communication matrix, and view the forums related to the selected project.

This button will only be displayed on the toolbar if SE Project is integrated with SE Risk. Click on it to create a risk plan of the project selected in the list of records. Refer to the specific SE Risk documentation for further details on risk plans.

Click on this button to change the main screen layout to three quadrants. After selecting this option, the third quadrant displays the schedule and the details of the project selected in the list of records of the second quadrant.

Click on this button to change the main screen layout to two quadrants.

 

 

The system will also display, in the list of records of this menu, the automated operation projects in objects started through other components, so that they may be planned.

Use the "Search filters" to easily retrieve the desired records based on specific information. Refer to the View Project menu for a detailed description of the filters.

The "N" column in the list of records on the main screen allows the logged-in user to identify their access level to the listed projects. Hover over each icon to identify what they represent.

Some software or hardware problems may freeze the system and keep the project permanently blocked. In this case, to unblock a project that is in the planning step, use the "Unblock" button described on the specific buttons.
