In this section are presented the functions that can be used in all components that allow the use of formulas, that is, SE Process, SE Performance, and SE Form.

 

Logic

This section will display logical functions.

 

▪IF: Specifies a logical test to be performed, that is, checks whether a condition has been accomplished and returns a value if it is TRUE.

Syntax:

IF(<condition>)

▪ELSE: Verifies if a condition has been met and returns a value if it is TRUE; otherwise, that is, if the value is FALSE returns another value.

Syntax:

▪AND: Verifies if arguments are TRUE and returns TRUE. Returns FALSE if at least one of the arguments is FALSE.

▪OR: Verifies if some argument is TRUE and returns TRUE or FALSE. Returns FALSE only if all arguments are FALSE.

Syntax:

▪NO: Reverses the argument logical value, that is, reverses FALSE to TRUE or TRUE to FALSE.

Syntax:

▪FALSE: Returns FALSE logical value.

Syntax:

FALSE

 

▪TRUE: Returns TRUE logical value.

▪NULL: Returns NULL logical value.

▪RETURN: Specifies the value to be returned to the formula.

Syntax:

RETURN

 
Math

▪RANDOM: Returns a random number greater or equal to 0 and less than 1 (modifies when it is recalculated) distributed evenly.

Syntax:

RANDOM()

 

▪RANDOM BETWEEN: Returns a decimal random number between the numbers you specify, that is, within <lower>, <upper> interval.

Syntax:

RANDOMBETWEEN(<lower>;<upper>)

 

▪ROUND(<Number>): Rounds a <Number> to the nearest integer.

Syntax:

ROUND(<number>)

 

▪FACTORIAL: Returns the factorial of a <number>, that is, 1*2*3*...*number.

Syntax:

FACTORIAL(<number>)

 

▪ABSOLUTE: Returns the absolute value of a number, that is a number without a sign.

Syntax:

ABSOLUTE(<number>)

 

▪PRODUCT: Multiplies all the numbers given as arguments, that is, multiplies the values <number1>, <number2>, <number3>, ..., <numberN>. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

PRODUCT(<number1>;<number2>;<number3>...<numberN>)

 

▪POWER: Raises the value <Number> to the power of <Exponent>.

Syntax:

POWER(<Number>;<Power>)

 

▪QUOTIENT: Returns the integer portion of a division of <Numerator> by <Denominator>.

Syntax:

QUOTIENT(<Numerator>;<Denominator>)

 

▪SQUARE ROOT: Returns a square root of a <number>.

Syntax:

SQUAREROOT(<number>)

 

▪MOD: Returns the integer remainder of the division of <Numerator> by <Denominator>.

Syntax:

MOD(<Numerator>;<Denominator>)

 

▪SUM: Adds the values <number1>, <number2>, <number3>, ..., <numberN>. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

SUM(<number1>;<number2>;<number3>...<numberN>)

 

▪SUBTRACTION: Subtracts the values <number1>, <number2>, <number3>, ..., <numberN>. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

SUBTRACTION(<number1>;<number2>;<number3>...<numberN>)

 

▪TRUNCATE: Rounds a <Number> down.

Syntax:

TRUNCATE(<number>)

 

▪HIGHEST: Returns the highest among the numbers given as arguments, that is, the highest value among <number1>, <number2>, <number3>, ..., <numberN>. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

HIGHEST(<number1>;<number2>;<number3>...<numberN>)

 

▪LOWEST: Returns the lowest among the numbers given as arguments, that is, the lowest value among <number1>, <number2>, <number3>, ..., <numberN>. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

LOWEST(<number1>;<number2>;<number3>...<numberN>)

 
Date and time (Except SE Form)

▪YEAR: Extracts the year from the <Date>.

Syntax:

YEAR(<Date>)

 

▪BEFORE: Compares two dates and returns TRUE if <Date 1> is before <Date 2>; otherwise, returns FALSE.

Syntax:

BEFORE(<Date 1>;<Date 2>)

 

▪DATE: Creates a date using as day, month and year, the values of <Day>, <Month> and <Year>, respectively.

Syntax:

DATE(<Day>;<Month>;<Year>)

 

▪EQUAL DATE: Compares two dates and returns TRUE if <Date 1> is equal to <Date 2>, otherwise, returns FALSE.

Syntax:

EQUALDATE(<Date 1>;<Date 2>)

 

▪AFTER: Compares two dates and returns TRUE if <Date 1> is after <Date 2>, otherwise, returns FALSE.

Syntax:

AFTER(<Date 1>;<Date 2>)

 

▪DAY: Extracts the day from the <Date>.

Syntax:

DAY(<Date>)

 

▪WEEK DAY: Extracts the week day from the <Date>.

Syntax:

WEEKDAY(<Date>)

 

▪DAYS BETWEEN: Returns the number of days between <Date 1> and <Date 2>.

Syntax:

DAYSBETWEEN(<Date 1>;<Date 2>)

 

▪TODAY: Creates a date that represents today's date.

Syntax:

TODAY()

 

▪MONTH: Extracts the month from the <Date>.

Syntax:

MONTH(<Date>)

 

▪WEEK NUMBER: Extracts the week number (of the year) from the <Date>.

Syntax:

NUMWEEK(<Date>)

 

▪ADD DAYS: Returns the date of a working day after adding the days to the initial date, according to the entered calendar.

Syntax:

ADDDAYS(<start date in the yyyy-mm-dd format>;<days to be added or subtracted>;<calendar ID #>)

 

▪ADD TIME: Returns the date and time of a working day after adding the minutes to the initial date, according to the entered calendar.

Syntax:

ADDTIME(<start date and time in the yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm format>;<minutes to be added or subtracted>;<calendar ID #>)

 

▪SEPARATE DATE: Returns only the date in the yyyy-mm-dd format from the date and time values.

Syntax:

SEPARATEDATE(<date and time in the yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm format>)

 

▪SEPARATE TIME: Returns only the time in the hh:mm format from the date and time format.

Syntax:

SEPARATETIME(<date and time in the yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm format>)

 
Text (Except SE Form)

This section will display text functions.

 

▪TRIM: Remove spaces from the beginning and the end of the <text> except for single spaces between words.

Syntax:

TRIM(<Text>)

 

▪EXACT: Compares the <Text 1> and <Text 2> texts and returns TRUE in case they have the exact same content, or FALSE if they are different. This function is case-sensitive.

Syntax:

EXACT(<text 1>;<text 2>)

 

▪FIND: Returns the exact position of <Searched text> within <Original text>. If the text is not found, -1 position is considered.

Syntax:

FIND(<Searched text>;<Original text>)

 

▪EXCERPT: Returns an excerpt from <Original text> an excerpt starting in <Start> and ending in <End> position - positions should be entire numeric values.

Syntax:

EXCERPT(<Original text>;<Start>;<End>)

 

▪UPPER: Modifies all <Text> characters to upper case.

Syntax:

UPPER(<Text>)

 

▪LOWER: Modifies all <Text> characters to lower case.

Syntax:

LOWER(<Text>)

 

▪SUBSTITUTE: Substitutes all occurrences of <Text to be replaced> to <New text> within text in <Source text>.

Syntax:

SUBSTITUTE(<Text to be replaced>;<New text>;<Source text>)

 

▪CONCATENATE: Unites 'Text 1', 'Text 2', 'Text 3', ... in a sequence. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

CONCATENATE('Text 1';'Text 2';'Text 3'; ...): Unites 'Text 1', 'Text 2', 'Text 3', ... in a sequence

 
Statistic (Except SE Form)

This section will display statistical functions.

 

▪AVERAGE: Returns the average of the following values:<Number 1>, <Number 2>, <Number 3>, ... <Number N>. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

AVERAGE(<Number 1>;<Number 2>;<Number 3>; ...;<Number N>)

 

▪STANDARD DEVIATION: Returns standard deviation of the following values: <Number 1>, <Number 2>, <Number 3>, ..., Number N. There are no fixed number of parameters.

Syntax:

STDEV(<Number 1>;<Number 2>;<Number 3>;...;<Number N>)
