SE Suite offers the Portals resource, which aims to transform a large amount of data into graphic panels.
While creating a portal, it is possible to add widgets that will allow you to submit information more simply or enable you to perform operations faster, without having to browse through multiple menus. See below the specific widget of SE Document:
In this widget it is possible to view documents in a quick way, without the need for accessing the SE Document view menu. Click on it, drag it and drop it in the desired panel area. When hovering the mouse over the widget in the upper right corner, the options that allow copying it and deleting it will be displayed.
After saving the changes and closing the portal editing, a filter will be displayed in the widget.
In it, type words contained in the title, description and/or content of each electronic file of the desired document. Next, press ENTER on the keyboard or click on the Search button. View the Quick search section for more details on using the feature of searching through the words of the content of the electronic file of a document.
According to how the filter is filled out, the documents will be presented in a listing. The main information of this document (ID #, title, category, update etc.) will also be displayed. According to the controls allowed for the logged user in document security, the following options may be available:

Select the desired option:
▪View electronic file: If the document has a single associated file, it will be opened for viewing. When the document has more than one associated electronic file, a screen to define which file to view will be displayed. Select the desired file and click on the button to view it. This operation can also be performed by clicking on the name of the document. ▪View revision data: The data screen of the current revision will be opened for viewing. ▪Download electronic file: The electronic file of the document will be downloaded. If the type of file configured in the category of the selected document is "Complex", by clicking on this button, the container folder structure will also be exported. |

This widget displays a pre-defined list of documents. Click on it, drag it and drop it in the desired panel area. Once done, it is possible to configure it through the displayed link or through the  button on the upper right corner. On the screen that will be opened, the following fields are available:

Edit this field to customize the name of the widget. In that case, enter the desired name.

Select one of the following options to define which documents will be listed:
▪All: All documents recorded in SE Document will be displayed. ▪Category: The documents in certain categories will be displayed. In the Category selection field that will be displayed, type the ID # or name of the category and, in the listing, select the desired record. Repeat this procedure to add all desired categories. ▪Saved search: Documents from a certain saved search will be displayed. In the Saved search field, select the desired saved search. |
Once done, click on Save.
When hovering the mouse over the widget in the upper right corner, the options that allow copying it, editing its configurations and deleting it will be displayed.
After saving the changes and closing portal editing, the documents will be displayed in a panel displaying its main information (ID #, title, category, update etc.). Use the filter on the upper part of the widget to locate the desired document among the listed documents.
By clicking on the document ID # and name, its electronic file will be opened. If the document has more than one associated electronic file, a screen to define which file to view will be displayed. Select the desired file and click on the button to view it.

The electronic file of the document will be downloaded. If the type of file configured in the category of the selected document is "Complex", by clicking on this button, the container folder structure will also be exported.

This widget displays the preview (content) of the electronic file of a document. It will only be possible to preview electronic files with .pdf extension.
By selecting this option, a screen to select the file will be opened. Fill out the following fields:

Type the ID # or title of the document whose electronic file you wish to be displayed in the widget and, in the listing that will be displayed, select the desired record. Note that only one document can be selected.

Electronic file
|
Select the electronic file whose content will be displayed in the widget. This resource is only compatible with .pdf files. That is, if a file with another extension is selected, the system will display a message informing that the preview is not available.
Note that, according to the configurations performed in the category, the electronic files of the document may be converted to .pdf. Converted files are supported by this resource.

Next, save the performed definitions.
When hovering the mouse over the widget in the upper right corner, the options that allow copying it, editing the displayed electronic file and deleting it will be displayed.
After saving the changes and closing the portal editing, the pdf content will be displayed in the widget. Use the options on the toolbar to print the file, download the pdf, edit the viewing options, adjust the zoom of the page, browse through the pages of the file and select part of the text. The availability of these options may vary according to the controls allowed for the logged user in document security.

▪If the user does not have permission to access SE Document, it will not be possible to view the document listing and the electronic files. A warning message will be sent by the system. ▪Moreover, the operations that the logged user may perform in the document will depend on the permissions granted to them in document security and its category. |
