If the "External attribute" option is selected in the Attribute type field of the General tab, this tab will be displayed. Use it to perform the configuration so that the attribute values are retrieved from another database:

Configuring the database connection

Click on the button on the side toolbar of this tab to configure the data of the connection to the database where the external attributes come from. Fill out the following fields on the data screen that opens:

Field

Data source

Fill out this field for a data source to be used for the connection with the external database. In this case, select the desired data source.

The data sources available for selection have been previously recorded in SE Administration menu. For security reasons, we recommend for the user of the associated data source to have a read-only access to the configured database.

Data type

Enter the SQL that will be executed to collect the attribute data.

All fields specified in select will be displayed for value selection when the attribute type is "Zoom", except for fields of the "Blob" data type.

Filter

Select the column that will be used to bring the external attribute value to the SE Suite.

Relationship

Select the field that will be used to index the attributes (primary key). This field will be used in the relationship.

After that, save the record.

Viewing constants

Use the button on the toolbar of the database connection configuration screen to view the constants available for use and their descriptions.

Testing the connection

To test the connection to the database, after filling out the necessary information, click on the button on the toolbar of the database connection configuration screen.

Database connection

After configuring and testing the database connection, on the side toolbar of the External attribute tab, click on the button to perform the connection with the database. At this moment, the system executes the SQL that was previously defined and retrieves the result on this tab.

It is also possible to have relationships between external attributes. See more details in the Relationship section.
