If the "List of values" or the "External attribute" option is selected in the Attribute type field of the General tab, this tab will be displayed. Use it to set the relationships between the attributes. See how to perform this operation in the following attribute types:

List of values

To relate attributes of the "List of values" type, click on the button on the side toolbar of this tab. At this point, the relationship screen will be opened:

A

Select a Value among those associated in the List of values tab.

B

In the Lower level attribute field, select an attribute of an order lower than the previously selected "Value" and that will be used in the relationship. Remember that only non-associated "List of values" attributes that have not been related yet will be enabled for selection, since an attribute can have only one upper level attribute.

C

The list of records will display all values of the lower level attribute defined earlier. Select those that will be associated with upper level attribute. Hold the CTRL or SHIFT keys down to select more than one record at a time.

In the D (Default) column, select a default value that will be automatically selected by the system in the record where the attribute is associated.

In practical terms:

If a "State" is defined as upper level attribute, a "City" may be defined as a lower level attribute option. This way, the default city can be for example, the state capital. After that, when associating an attribute with the respective record, the default attribute value will be filled out by the system.

External attribute

To relate external attributes, click on the button and fill out the following fields on the data screen that will open:

A

Displays the value searched by the SQL in the External attribute tab, which will be used to set the relationship between the attributes;

B

In the Lower level attribute field, select an attribute of an order lower than the value filled out in the "Field" and that will be used in the relationship. Note that only the external attributes will be displayed.

C

According to the selected lower level attribute, all of its values for the relationship will be displayed. Select the desired option.
