Overview:

Item families aim at relating items with characteristics in common, resulting in better control over the related items. The items of a family will automatically inherit all its characteristics, allowing users to edit them directly through the family management. The main screen of this menu is displayed in three quadrants. The first quadrant displays the search filter panel. The second quadrant displays the item family. And the third quadrant displays the items belonging to the family selected in the second quadrant.

 

Specific buttons:

This button is displayed in the following quadrants:

Second quadrant: Click on this button to add a new item family. See further details about this operation in the Creating an item family section.

Third quadrant: Click on this button to add a new item to the family item selected in the second quadrant. The details on how to add an item from a family are described in the Creating items section.

This button is displayed in the following quadrants:

Second quadrant: Click on this button to edit the data of the item family selected in this quadrant. Select the desired record before clicking on the button. See further details about this operation in the Creating an item family section.

Third quadrant: Click on this button to edit the data of the item selected in this quadrant. Select the desired record before clicking on the button. See further details about this operation in the Creating a new item section.

This button is displayed in the following quadrants:

Second quadrant: Click on this button to delete the item family selected in this quadrant. Select the desired record before clicking on the button.

Third quadrant: Click on this button to delete the item selected in this quadrant. Select the desired record before clicking on the button.

This button is displayed in the following quadrants:

Second quadrant: Click on this button to view the data of the item family selected in this quadrant. Select the desired record before clicking on the button.

Third quadrant: Click on this button to view the data of the item selected in this quadrant. Select the desired record before clicking on the button.

This button is displayed in the second quadrant: Click on the arrow next to this button to export the list of records displayed on the main screen to an Excel file, configure a new report or associate an existing report, or search for the parameters that may be used when configuring new reports.

This button is displayed only in the second quadrant, within the "More" grouper. Click on this button to download the electronic file of a family of items. Select the desired record before clicking on the button.

This button is displayed only in the second quadrant, within the "More" grouper. Click on this button to upload the electronic file of the family of items selected on the main screen.

This button is displayed only in the second quadrant, within the "More" grouper. When clicked, it allows activating/deactivating the record selected on the main screen. To locate the records that are inactive, check the "Inactive" option of the Item advanced filter.

This button is displayed only in the second quadrant, within the "More" grouper. Click on this button to make a copy of the record selected on the main screen. On the new screen, enter the identifier and the name of the family of items.

This button is displayed only in the second quadrant, within the "More" grouper. Click on this button to unblock an electronic file that has been blocked for editing. Note that, after clicking on this button, the family of items will be available for editing. If the electronic file is open for one use and another user edits it, there may be losses of information of one of the two users.

This button is displayed only in the third quadrant and allows associating an existing item with the family selected in the second quadrant. Click on this button and, on the screen that the system will display, locate and select the desired item and save the selection. At this point, the item will be listed in the third quadrant as a family item.

This button is displayed only in the third quadrant and allows disassociating a family item. To do that, select the desired item in the third quadrant and click on this button. At this point, the item will no longer be displayed in the family item list.

 

Use the "Search filters" to easily retrieve records based on specific information.
