Starting a workflow via association

Previous  Top  Next

Workflows can also be started on several screens that allow workflow association. To do that, when accessing the workflow association screen, click on the button. The following screen will be displayed:

Fill out the following fields:

Process: Select the process that will be started. Some associations may have pre-set processes or process types for better control of the associations performed in the record. As soon as a process is selected, the buttons located on the side of this field will be enabled, allowing you to view the flowchart or the process data screen.

Title: Enter a title for the workflow that is being started. This field may be automatically filled out if the selected process is configured with a default title.

Description: Enter a description for the workflow being started. This field may be disabled if the "Enable description information" option is not checked in the process data (Process data Configurations Instance).

After completing the fields, click on the button to start the workflow. If the starter of the workflow is the executor of the first activity of the process flow, the activity screen will be displayed, allowing its execution. If the activity is configured with the permission to change the ID #, title, or description, a screen will be displayed allowing you to edit the instance ID #, Title, or Description.

This screen will only be displayed to the workflow starter (in the first activity of the instance) if at least one of the following parameters has been checked in the activity data (Activity data Configurations Instance): "Enable ID # change", "Enable title change" or "Enable description change". If none of these fields is checked, then this screen will not be displayed.

If in the Process Security data, in the SE Process component, the "Enable starter to edit instance viewing permissions" option is checked, then, during the execution of the first activity, the Security section will be displayed, which will allow the starter to perform the desired security configurations for the workflow that was started. See more details about this section in the "Activity execution Entering the data of an activity" section.

See the Activity execution task for more details on how to perform the execution of an activity.

Remember that if deadlines are configured during process modeling, after the workflow is started, actions can be triggered by the system. Refer to the specific documentation of the SE Process component for more information on deadlines and their configuration.
